A bunch of Toronto-based architects who genuinely care about building stuff that matters
Started back in 2011 when three of us were sitting in a cramped cafe on Queen West, sketching ideas on napkins and wondering why so many new buildings felt... soulless, you know? We wanted to create spaces that actually respect the past while embracing what's possible today.
Fast forward to now, and we've grown into a team of 15 passionate folks who still get excited about restoring old brick facades and figuring out how to make buildings work with nature instead of against it. We've worked on everything from heritage homes in Cabbagetown to modern sustainable offices downtown.
What drives us? Honestly, it's seeing someone walk into a space we designed and just... feel it. That moment when the light hits right, when the old and new elements click together perfectly. That's what keeps us going through the late nights and permit headaches.
Founding Principal & Lead Designer
Been designing buildings for 18 years now, and I still sketch everything by hand first. Started this whole thing because I got tired of seeing Toronto's beautiful old buildings torn down when they could've been saved. Got my Masters from Waterloo and never looked back.
Principal Architect & Sustainability Lead
I'm the nerd who gets way too excited about passive heating systems and green roofs. Used to work for a big firm downtown but realized I wanted to actually make a difference. Now I spend my days figuring out how to make buildings that don't cost the earth.
Senior Project Manager
The person who somehow keeps all our chaotic projects on track and under budget. Been in construction management for 12 years, and I've learned that good communication beats fancy software every time. Also make the best coffee in the office.
Heritage Restoration Specialist
Grew up helping my grandpa restore old barns, so working with heritage buildings just feels natural. There's something magical about uncovering original details that've been hidden for decades. Every old building has stories to tell if you know how to listen.
Urban Planning Director
Cities are living organisms, and I'm fascinated by how they grow and change. Spent five years working with the city before joining this crew. My mission's pretty simple - make Toronto denser without making it boring or losing what makes neighborhoods special.
Interior Design Lead
Interiors aren't just about making things look pretty - though that's fun too. It's about understanding how people actually live and work in spaces. I spent years designing restaurant interiors before getting into residential and commercial work. Learned a lot about human behavior.
Look, we're living in a climate crisis, and buildings are responsible for like 40% of carbon emissions. Every project we take on, we're thinking about energy efficiency, materials, lifecycle. It's not about being trendy - it's about not screwing over future generations.
Toronto's got this amazing architectural history, and we're watching it disappear building by building. When you tear down a 100-year-old structure, you're not just losing bricks and mortar - you're losing craftsmanship we can't replicate anymore. We fight to save what can be saved.
At the end of the day, buildings are for people. Not Instagram, not awards - people. We spend a ridiculous amount of time just listening to clients, understanding how they actually use their spaces. Because a beautiful building that doesn't work for its users is just expensive sculpture.
We'll tell you when your budget doesn't match your vision. We'll admit when we made a mistake. We'll push back if we think you're making the wrong call. Might not always be comfortable, but it's how we've built relationships that last decades.
Started in a shared workspace with three people, one printer, and way too much ambition. Our first project was a tiny condo renovation in Liberty Village. Still proud of that one.
Got selected to restore a Victorian row house in Cabbagetown. Spent eight months on it and fell completely in love with heritage work. Changed the entire direction of our practice.
Moved into our current space on Queen West. Finally had room to spread out, proper meeting areas, and a model shop. Felt like we'd made it, honestly.
Became LEED accredited professionals and started focusing heavily on sustainable design. Won our first green building award that year for an office conversion in the Distillery District.
Grew to 15 team members and added urban planning to our services. Also survived a pandemic while somehow staying creative and connected. Zoom fatigue is real, folks.
Working on our most ambitious projects yet - a mixed-use development in Leslieville and a major heritage restoration downtown. Still learning, still growing, still excited about what's next.
